7 members of Brent FOE and Divest Brent protested outside Barclays Bank in Cricklewood last Saturday. Barclays is one of the worst of the UK banks for investment in the Fossil Fuel industry. Between 2016 and 2018 it financed fossil fuels to the tune of over $85bn.
Overall more than 20 Brent people joined this national action against Barclays called by Momentum and People & Planet, with an even larger group protesting outside Barclays in Willesden High Road.
We leafleted and encouraged people to sign this online petition bankruptclimatechange.com/sign (please sign it too)
We also got Brent residents to sign Divest Brent's petition to the council and gave out information about Brent FOE.
It was a story now becoming familiar along the high road .. plenty of rushed shoppers alongside bouts of interest and thanks from people keen to support us.
Please join us next time : coming stalls are on Sat April 27th and Sunday 19th May. Contact Elaine at firstname.lastname@example.org
