The culmination of our actions leading up to COP26 in Glasgow will be two national Friends of the Earth events – one to support divestment (including Divest Brent) on Wednesday, 3 November and the big Day of Action on Saturday, 6 November.

We would be very pleased if you could make it to one or both events.

November 3rd

Barclays demo

Brent Friends of the Earth will be demonstrating outside Barclays Bank on Cricklewood Broadway. This is to draw attention to the vast amount of funds lent by the Barclays to fossil fuel projects (which accelerate Climate Change). The demonstration is planned to begin at 12.30 p.m and finish at 2.00 p.m. Meet at 12.15 at the Clayton Crown Hotel, NW2 3ED (just opposite.the bank). The more people who can join us the better.

November 6th

London Global Day of Action

This is a London-wide action (but part of a nationwide event) to highlight the involvement of financial institutions in Climate Change and consists of a march from the Bank of England to Trafalgar Square followed by a rally.

The time for the march to begin is 12.00 noon

Covid-19 - How to campaign

These are unsettling times for us all, particularly the most vulnerable in our society. The most important thing you can do right now is to keep yourself, and the wider community, safe. If we are to be effective climate activists in the future, we need to look after our physical and mental wellbeing now.
