CLEAN AIR DAY 21 JUNE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED please email Kitty at kitty_dcosta@hotmail.comif you can volunteer for a 2 hour slot between 2pm and 7pm.

Thursday 21 June 2018 is National Clean Air Day and to mark it Brent Council is running lots of fun and informative clean air activities outside the Library at Civic Centre, 32 Engineers Way, Wembley HA9 0AF, from 3pm – 6pm.  We will be there running a stall jointly with Clean Air for Brent, so please come and see us or better still volunteer to help on the stall for a couple of hours!

The focus of the day will be on anti-idling and getting people to sign up to a new Brent Clean Air Pledge – which includes committing to walk and cycle more and drive less.

CAfB, Friends of the Earth and the Council will then be hosting a Celebration of Clean Air event at 6pm with Barry Gardiner MP, Dawn Butler MP and Cllr Krupa Sheth (new Cabinet member for the Environment).  We are also hoping that Tulip Siddiq MP will make it.  We’d like as many of you to come and take part in a photo-call signing the Clean Air Pledge banner with them, as possible.  We’ll then have short speeches and networking with refreshments in the Conference Hall in Civic Centre.

This will be the first time that our Brent MPs will be meeting our group in person, and we want to show them how much their constituents care about this cause, and urge them to do whatever they can at a national level to clean up our dirty air.
